A blog post, when written on an evergreen topic, can bring in traffic for years and years. But there are many people that might like your content that don’t want to read them in the form of a blog post.
So what is a girl to do when she wants to get those eyes on her content? Obviously, you repurpose those blog posts and turn them into something new.
When you repurpose your blog content, you take content that was already successful and you turn it into something new that appeals to a different kind of audience. Think of it as appealing to different learning styles. Some people learn visually, others learn through conversation, etc.
You get new pieces of useful content that your audience will love, and you increase your chances of gaining traffic for it all. This is the ultimate hack for lazy bloggers… which is all of us, sometimes! Doing this saves time and makes more money for your business. That saved time can then be put into writing even more content!
Here are a few awesome ways to repurpose your blog content to get a bigger audience and more customers:
Turn Them Into eBooks
Once you’ve been blogging for a while, you probably will find that you have multiple posts that work really well together. So long as you’ve been writing faithfully to your niche, you’re sure to have some posts that you can combine and then sell as an informative ebook.
The trick here is to edit the posts and add more content to them so that they are still worth buying. Update them with new information and graphics and you’ll have a valuable info product to sell with your blog, all with much less work than writing a whole book from scratch.
Turn Them Into Printables
This one goes hand in hand with the planner pages suggestion below. Printables are more artsy and creative than planner pages, and they should be beautiful enough to entice someone to print them out and stick them in a frame.
If your content is more useful than beautiful, then consider turning them into planner pages.
Turn Them Into Planner Pages
Do you have content that could be turned into planner pages? For instance, if you wrote a blog post about how to meal plan, you could turn that into an easy to use planner page. Or maybe if you wrote a blog post about cleaning your house, you could create a cleaning checklist.
Planner addicts are always looking for more things to add to their bullet journals or Filofax. Plus, planner pages are easy to make in programs like Canva.
Turn Them Into Quizzes
I think we all went through a quizzes phase, but did you know that they’re still really popular? Quizzes are fun ways to increase the reach of your content, and they are inherently shareable. That makes them quick to go viral!
Turning your blog post into a quiz isn’t what I would describe as easy but it is an easier way to add tools to your website. And I believe Neil Patel when he says that tools are the best kind of content to add to a website!
Turn Them Into Podcast Episodes
Podcasts are only becoming more popular these days. If you have the time to do so, adding a podcast to your blog is a great way to reach an audience that wouldn’t otherwise read your posts.
I am a big fan of Naturopathic Earth, but I found them through their podcast before I ever saw their blog. And when I did see their blog, I realized that their podcasts and blogs were the same content! That’s a pretty genius move and a great way to increase your audience size with less work. Now I know that I can just listen to their podcasts, and I don’t have to add their blog RSS to my already bloated RSS feed reader.
Plus, hearing your voice will help your fans connect with you much more easily than just reading your blog would. When they hear your voice, they can really hear the passion you have for any subject.
Turn Them Into Youtube Videos
Like turning your posts into podcast episodes, you can also turn them into Youtube videos. You can either show your face (which is the recommended approach) or use a splash screen or stock images. Either way, you’ll be hitting a new and probably younger audience.
The secret to Youtube is to upload at least once a week. More often is preferable. In that way, running a Youtube channel can become a full time job, fast. But the traffic boost will pay off in the end!
Turn Them Into Print On Demand Products
A good blog post probably has motivational quotes or themes and concepts that would be awesome as a poster, shirt, or coffee mug. So why not increase your sales potential by turning those quotes and concepts into print on demand products?
Both Printful and Printify are awesome print on demand platforms that integrate easily into WordPress and WooCommerce.
If you choose the right quotes and concepts, you’ll be creating a lasting brand by offering these products. They’ll be a regular reminder to those who buy them that your blog exists.
Turn Them Into Quotes Images For Pinterest And Instagram
Maybe it’s just me, but I find that quotes on Pinterest get a really good click-through rate. If you want to get in on that action, take the juiciest quotes from your posts and turn them into images that can then be pinned to Pinterest or posted to Instagram.
Even better if those quotes are motivational or inspirational. People love to be inspired to do more, and an inspired person is more likely to click through to your site and read your post.
Plus, once those quotes start spreading you’ll be increasing your authority online and name recognition, which is essential for Google’s E-A-T.
With these tips, you’ll be able to make your content really stretch. Plus, many of these options help you to increase your audience size and turn your readers into rabid fans!
