Five Free Motivational Quote Printables

We all go through rough patches. Anxiety, depression, and laziness all creep up on us.

I’ve always found that motivational quotes can be helpful. They’re not a bandaid or a cure, but they do help focus your mood so that you can help yourself.

I like to keep some motivational quotes around my house to help boost my mood. I get into a mom funk now and then, and seeing one of these on my wall can help me to remember that bad moods pass.

These printables are free to download (link at the end of this post) but I do also sell printables! See my printables here.

Motivate yourself with these three word quotes

Be the change. This quote should inspire you to do good, remain ethical, and always stick to your morals. You can change the world with every tiny good deed.

So go ahead. Be the change that you know is needed.

When we think of change, we often think only of the bad changes. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Every closed door is an opportunity, and every change can lead to something new and amazing.

Hanging this in your home will help to remind your whole family to maybe let go a little, and let life change when it needs to.

We all need a reminder to take it easy sometimes. And in this hectic modern world, sometimes the motivation we need most is something that reminds us to slow down and truly enjoy life.

This printable might be best used in your office, or by the front door so you can see it before you leave for work. It’ll stick in your mind through traffic, bad coffee, and mean coworkers.

You got this! You have the strength and intelligence to meet any hurdle in your way.

Use this motivational quote to push you through those times where you really don’t want to do the dishes, or your toddler is on their 19th tantrum of the day, or you have to go to the DMV.

Using this quote at your daily mantra will get you through some of your toughest times.

You’ll be fine. Through it all, through your darkest days, a light will finally shine through and things will improve.

I use this one as a mantra a lot when I’m anxious, and I’m trying to teach it to my son as well. It’s really useful and helps to calm me down.

You can download these five free printables here! I hope they come in handy for you!

The Amazing Benefits and Uses of Tea Tree Oil

tea tree oil for vagina

Tea tree oil, which comes from an Australian tea tree and is also known as melaleuca oil, is an essential oil made from steaming the tree’s leaves.

It’s one of the few essential oils that I use and truly believe in its efficacy. A lot of information about essential oils is more folklore than science, but there is real science behind the uses for tea tree oil.

Either way, when used correctly, tea tree oil is safe to use topically. I don’t recommend ingesting it, though. It’s toxic when you swallow it. For that reason, I don’t suggest using it as a mouthwash, because you may accidentally swallow it.

Note: I’m not a doctor. I can’t give you medical advice and am just sharing my own anecdotes and what I’ve read about over the years. So please see your doctor for any medical issues you’re dealing with!

So what are some tea tree oil uses?

  • Tea tree oil used with a carrier oil is useful for acne. Mind, this is not true for hormonal acne, which usually presents itself around the chin.
  • When in a pinch, tea tree oil can be used as a hand sanitizer. Studies show that tea tree oil kills common bacteria and viruses, including E. coli, S. pneumoniae and H. influenzae (1). Here is a recipe for making a simple, moisturizing hand sanitizer using tea tree oil.
  • Dandruff relief is one of my favorite uses for tea tree oil. After I shampoo my hair, I mix a few drops of tea tree oil in a cup of warm water and pour it on my head. I leave it in for a few minutes, then add my usual conditioner. I then rinse as normal. You can also just add a few drops to your shampoo.
  • Tea tree oil may be useful in repelling flies and other insects. A study found that after being treated with tea tree oil, cows had 61% fewer flies than untreated cows. (1)
  • Applying tea tree oil to your feet helps relieve athlete’s foot.
  • I hate conventional deodorant and find it causes breast pain. On all but the hottest of days, I prefer to use a natural deodorant made with tea tree oil and a few other ingredients.
  • Lice! I haven’t tried this but others have mixed lavender oil with tea tree oil to treat lice eggs.
  • Tea tree oil and colloidal silver are often mixed to treat boils on the skin.
  • Tea tree can be used for some pelvic maladies like vaginitis and yeast infections.
  • I have used tea tree oil for ringworm before, and it cleared up very quickly for me.

Keep in mind that it’s important to dilute tea tree oil appropriately with a carrier oil or water (depending on how you’re using it). If you don’t dilute it, it can cause itching, stinging, redness, skin irritation, and other skin issues.

Four Tiny Tweaks To Make Your Etsy Shop More Profitable

4 stupid simple tweaks to get more Etsy sales

It’s inevitable that after the Christmas gift buying season, nearly everyone running a shop is looking for ways to avoid the Spring and Summer sales slump. While to some extent it’s impossible to totally avoid the slump, there are ways you can improve your Etsy shop that will bring in more sales.

Assuming you’ve already done all the obvious thing that every article about getting more Etsy sales tells you to do (upload more products, share on social media, yadda yadda), I’ve come up with 4 really small tweaks you can use to bring in more sales on Etsy. They aren’t magic and they won’t work overnight, but given time, they will improve your chances of being found on Google, Etsy search and social media.

None of these changes will take a long time, and all of them are easy to keep up with as you add more listings. It adds a few minutes to your uploads, but in the end the increase in profitability will make it so worth it.

Keyword your descriptions

I’ve been working hard to improve my Etsy product descriptions. For a long time I had some templates that I used, but that left little variability and that doesn’t help your chances of being liked by Google.

So now, when I’m writing my descriptions, I try to write a truly unique description. Just one or two sentences that tell the customer (and search engines) what the product is and who might use it.

I also try to pepper in some of the keywords I’m using in my Etsy listing, as well as keywords I find on Pinterest ad recommendations.

You can find a lot of great keyword ideas to use in your descriptions with Pinterest’s ad creator.

Make all of your images Pinterest sized

Most listings I’ve found have short or square images, which means that the customers that want to pin your products to Pinterest have to either choose an image that isn’t optimized for Pinterest, or make one of their own.

Don’t make your customers jump through those hoops. Give them a reason to pin your products to Pinterest by giving them pretty images that are 6 x 9 in size. That’s the perfect size for Pinterest.

When you do this, you make your customers and the Pinterest algorithm happy!

Increase your keyword variability

Make sure the tags you’re using when you upload your listing aren’t repetitive. Further, make sure the tags across multiple listings aren’t repetitive!

If you have a lot of cat charms listed, you don’t want them all to have the same tags. So that you can be found in as many searches as possible, you want to use a tool like Marmalead or eRank to find a whole lot of tags you can use.

I do like to use a few keywords consistently, so most of my slime charms to have “slime charms” as a tag. Not all of them do, though!

Link to shop sections in your descriptions

Cross sell to your customers by telling them you have more items in your shop, and then include a link to one of your shop sections.

Links in your descriptions generally aren’t clickable, but good news! If you link within Etsy itself, it is clickable, meaning your description is a great opportunity to push your customers to find more to buy.

Tweak your shop for easier sales

Hopefully with these tips, you’ll get more sales and be found more easily on Pinterest and Google. The general tip is to make things easier on your customers and to give Google the information it needs to rank you correctly!

Which of these tweaks will you use? Do you have any other small tips to increase Etsy sales? Comment below and let me know!

Ingredients

Cake ingredients

  • cooking spray
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 1/2 cups fine sugar
  • 1 3/4 tsp salt
  • 6 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • Extra flour for the pan
  • 1 large orange
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2/4 cup creme fraiche
  • 1 1/2 stick unsalted butter melted

Syrup ingredients

  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fine sugar
  • 3 tbsp fresh orange juice

Glaze ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter softened
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 3 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Toppings (optional)

  • whipped cream
  • candied lemon zest

Instructions

Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Coat a 10-cup Bundt pan or cake pan with cooking spray, followed by dusting with flour.
  • Tap out the excess flour over the sink.
  • Finely grate 2 tsp lemon zest and 1/2 tsp orange zest.
  • Remove peel and pith from all citrus fruits.
  • Hold a lemon over a bowl and cut between the membranes. Put the segments into the bowl.
  • Squeeze the sweet juice from the segments into another bowl.
  • Repeat with remaining fruit.
  • Cut the citrus segments into 1/4 inch pieces.
  • Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
  • Add creme fraiche.
  • Beat mixture on medium speed until they’re combined.
  • Add eggs and beat to combine each one to the mixture.
  • Beat in butter, citrus juices, and zests.
  • Add citrus segments and beat to combine.
  • Transfer batter to prepared pan.
  • Bake, rotating pan once, until a tester comes out of the middle clean (about 50 minues). This is the hardest part, because it smells so good you’ll want to just eat it right away!

Syrup

  • Combine the citrus juices and sugar into a pan.
  • Boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, then for another 30 seconds for good measure.

Glaze

  • Beat powdered sugar and softened butter together at medium speed until well blended.
  • Add orange zest.
  • Add orange juice and lemon juice.
  • Beat everything until smooth.

Serving

  • Allow cake to cool on a wire rack while still in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Turn the cake out onto the rack and let it cool for another 10 minutes or more. Adding the topping always works better if the cake is cooler.
  • Transfer to a plate or other shallow dish.
  • Brush syrup over the cake until all the syrup is used.
  • Return to wire rack for another 5 minutes until the syrup is dry.
  • Brush with glaze and let the cake finish cooling.
  • Store cake for up to 24 hours if covered.
  • Top with whipped cream and candied zest when serving.

Chicken Avocado Burritos

If you are in a hurry to make lunch or dinner, it might be time for you to try these healthy chicken avocado burritos! They are an easy and delicious meal that can be made even easier by throwing them in the freezer. If you have 15 minutes, you can put these delicious burritos together and have meals for days!

Burritos and wraps are my go-to budget and time friendly meals, so I always try to have a lot stocked up. My husband would eat burritos every day for lunch and dinner if I let him, too, so I have to make more every week!

This recipe is for the base idea of a chicken avocado burrito, but you can always add more seasoning. I do! I like to marinate the chicken in some olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and some extra lime juice. But you can experiment and find what works for your family!

This is a very filling recipe thanks to that deliciously fatty avocado and the protein in the chicken. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, you can use faux chicken, too!

And if you’re serving a family or a party, you don’t have to wrap everything up right away. Display them in bowls and let the party build the burritos themselves!

The meat from a rotisserie chicken or a chicken you roasted will be delicious in this while also leaving you bones for a hearty bone broth later, too. Use up those birds!

  • 4 tbsp sour cream
